Welcome to Belgrade
Small-town country charm and mountain views close to city amenities and national parks
Nestled in the valleys of the Bridger Mountains, Belgrade is a fast-growing community full of small-town country charm. Belgrade's proximity to Bozeman Airport allows easy access to travel. The city got its name from Serbian investors who helped finance the Northern Pacific Railroad in the 1880s. Today, living in Belgrade offers beautiful Montana farmland, remodeled single-family homes on generous acreages, brand-new luxury estates, condominiums, and townhouses. Main Street in old Downtown Belgrade is lined with unique boutiques, quaint cafes, numerous restaurants, and micro-breweries, some set in charming historic buildings. Downtown also hosts fun community events year-round.
Residents have convenient access to world-class amenities like skiing at Big Sky and Bridger Bowl, excellent dining in Downtown Bozeman, and site-seeing at Yellowstone National Park. Belgrade enjoys warm summers and plenty of snowfall in the winter. Outdoor enthusiasts will find an abundance of recreational activities year-round.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
Even though it’s a small town, you’ll find a good number of restaurants, most of them clustered downtown. Mint Café and Bar is a steakhouse and local landmark, serving elevated American dishes since 1904. For something more low-key, Bar 3 Bar-B-Q is highly rated for its meats and hearty Southern side dishes. The Local American Saloon is a sports bar popular with the locals. They also serve signature burgers, sandwiches, and skillets with a full bar. Dukes Café and Bakery uses locally-sourced ingredients and serves breakfast and lunch. They have a good selection of fresh pastries and gourmet coffee.
Café Havana is a coffee shop with authentic, made-to-order Cubano sandwiches. Rice Fine Thai Cuisine has authentic curries, pad thai, soups, and fried rice dishes for Thai fare. For pizza, MacKenzie River Pizza Co. serves gourmet pies with the freshest Montana-inspired ingredients like trout or huckleberries. Be sure to save room for dessert!
Chalet Market has specialty meat, huckleberry products, and gift boxes. On Thursdays, the Belgrade Community Farmers’ Market has local produce, craft vendors, artisanal products, and live music.
Things to Do
Belgrade is one of the best places for fly fishing. For a unique experience outdoors, Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park is a 3,000-acre public recreation park with extraordinary limestone formations. It’s Montana’s first state park and its most famous. It is also a fun camping place with over 10 miles of hiking trails.
There’s another namesake, Lewis and Clark Park, in Downtown Belgrade with a skating area, splash pad, and playground for the kids. During the holidays, the annual Belgrade Community Christmas Convoy kicks off the season with a convoy of trucks decorated with Christmas lights.
